In her role, Adrea Hernandez leads the research team in their work with institutions to collect information from students, faculty, staff, and alumni in an effort to boost student success and improve the overall campus climate. Since joining HEDS in 2014, Adrea has led the Research Practices, Alumni, and Sexual Assault Campus Climate Surveys, in terms of overseeing the survey process as well as producing reports based on the comparative results. Adrea currently leads the Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey and has worked with over 80 institutions in this project over the past few years.
While at HEDS, Adrea completed her PhD in American Studies at Boston University. Her research interests include socio-political history and racial identity development.
Adrea is proud that her commitment to social justice oriented work aligns with the HEDS mission to collaborate with colleges and universities to better serve their students and communities as a whole.
