HEDS is a community of colleges and universities committed to sharing data, knowledge, and expertise to advance undergraduate liberal arts education, inclusive excellence, and student success.

HEDS fulfills its mission by:

Helping member institutions increase their capacity to promote student success and lead efforts that help staff, faculty, and institutional leaders make sense of and use data to advance liberal learning.
Assembling, analyzing, and sharing institutional and survey data among member institutions to advance their missions.
Offering professional development opportunities through its national and regional workshops, webinars, and a network of colleagues at member institutions.
Facilitating collaborative efforts among its member institutions on student success, institutional research and effectiveness, and assessment.

The Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS) is an independent not-for-profit corporation that was formed in 1983 and is now located at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
